KPI analytical dimension: which Asset to put it?

Hello there,

Does anyone already thought about modeling and cataloging Key Performance Indicators (KPI) within Collibra ?

More precisely, I have a particular interest into knowing the best way to locate the “Analytical Dimension” concept either within the “Glossary” or “Report Catalog” Assets.

Any thought?

Such a great question, we definitely wanted to elevate KPIs out of Glossary and Report Catalogs where they can be a bit lost.
We addressed this by creating a ‘Metric Catalog’ domain type, that houses Measures and KPIs. We have one each for LoBs and one for the enterprise. Within the LoB metric catalogs, we use tags to associate them with specific projects or categories.
We created a global view for all measures and KPIs and made tiered certifications available for them as part of Trusted Business Reporting Solution.

We actually have 2 asset types:

BI Report Attribute - located in Report Catalog and which represents a most detail item of report description coming from BI Tool (it may be Tableau, Power BI or something else)
KPI - it’s a representation of logical model , which can be tied (1:n) to BI Report Attributes, Database columns, API data structure elements and so on…
And these asset types are managed by different scenarios
