Multiple Definitions
I am new to Collibra, and I'm curious what the use case might be for having more than one definition for a Business Glossary asset. It is possible to add many definitions to one asset. Is this something that can be turned off? Can definitions be categorized or filtered?

·1 year agoHello,
the use case for multiple definitions could be that you have different definitions for different systems / languages or anything like that.
The real reason why this is possible is that Collibra offers a very flexible metadata model where you can configure how many instances of an attribute you want to have per asset type.
So yes, you can turn it off. To do this you have to go to the settings of the 'Bussiness Term' asset type -> Global Assignment (or any other Scope that you may use) -> Characteristics.
There you will find a list of all attributes and relations that can be used with the selected asset type.
In this list you have to find the entry for the definition attribute and set in the column 'Cardinality Max' the value to 1.
