SAP Business Objects metadata integration

Question

There are two options on marketplace for Business Objects integration. One is a community offering with a starting template. Another is a partner Wiisdom. Has anyone used either of these. Business Objects is one of our main reporting tools and we need to include it in Collibra DIP to understand metadata and impacts.

Hi, We are currently in the process of working with Wiisdom, but we have had a lot of problems getting assets into Collibra even after the ingestion runs. Have you made any progress with yours? I would love to learn what may have worked for you!

We were the instigators of this solution, to ingest the BO Universes we were using. It wouldn't perform all of what we wanted from an integration, missing some of our universes. It did work on many of the universes. Our goal was to create the hop (end point) of a technical lineage from sources to the universe and then out to the reports using the universe. If you are heavily invested in the universes and reporting, then I would suggest you give it a try. SAP kept telling us they were stopping their support for BO and their minor updates would affect our ingestions. We switched over to Tableau and recreated our universe data assets inside of Tableau reports to server as a lineage link for the remaining BO Reports we still use. With Tableau increasing their licensing fee, we are now migrating over to Power BI reporting. Collibra connectors support both Tableau and Power BI.
