Turn off Data Marketplace
Data Marketplace toggle is causing users frustration with searching for known assets.
How do we turn off marketplace, or set the default to off for users?

·2 years ago · EditedWe ended up landing on having this left on because you have to go into Global Permissions, and make certain that the user's global role(s) do not have these permissions:
- Data Marketplace
- Catalog
There are processes we suggest to our users that involve some of the Catalog features, and so until that is disconnected from the Data Marketplace slider, we have left it turned on.
One workaround is going into Settings > Search > Data Marketplace Scope and turning the scope on for all assets and statuses. That effectively means the search results should end up the same.

·2 years ago · Edited@daverichard thanks for sharing this workaround. I just did this in our dev instance to test it out. I might end up doing the same in our production instance once we enable the UI there. Still waiting to see if the ideation request to allow admins to turn the DM search default off will be released.
Note that the filters located on the left pane are different depending on whether you have Data Marketplace toggled on or off. May or may not make a difference to users.

·2 years ago · Edited@mauthier I think because I was viewing a business term as my test I did not see the options for source system or data source type. On checking it over it does appear that you can make the filters the same by going into the Settings > Search > Filter Facets section. I was able to make it so that the filters matched.
