Asset's History Management
Hello All,
We need for security reasons to hide or delete for end-users some part of the Asset’s History.
Do you know how we can manage that ?
I’ve find the following comment in a old topic but I don’t find the way to setup it :
You can delete certain entries from the history (using hidden/undocumented method in the activityStreamApi)
Many Thanks,
Camille

I just saw this message. And I was wondering where did you find these hidden endpoints? I saw this activityStreamApi.purge and want to find out more / more options.

!!CAUTION: check your contract, as doing so is under the terms of the reverse engineering activities. You need to discuss with your CSM prior to doing this.!!
dgc 5.9 is different from 2023.05, but most things in 5.9 are applicable to 2023.05.
Those undocumented features are not supported, so proceed with caution.
This approach is especially useful for:

·4 years ago · EditedThere’s a method in the API that allows to do just that. But it’s undocumented.
@ann.wuyts what would be the guidance on those “hidden functionalities”? Any chance we bring this dark magic back into the light?

·4 years ago · Edited@arthur.burkhardt I can propose that. Can you create an ideation to quickly describe what (info from) the API regarding history you suggest we should consider documenting on developer.collibra.com ?

Admin4 years ago · Edited@camille.maire Support tells me that you should be able to delete the history of a resource - https://productresources.collibra.com/docs/collibra/latest/Content/History/ta_view-asset-history.htm?Highlight=assets%20history. Report back if that helps.

Admin4 years ago · Edited@ann.wuyts @camille.maire We were wrong. It is by design that you cannot delete history as "it is against system audit and control standards”

·4 years ago · EditedWell, there is a problem then, because the method exists. Whether or not it SHOULD be possible, it IS possible.
The fact it is not documented is essentially a very weak security by obfuscation.
A better option would be to enable archiving or compacting, which would return a cleaned up version of this history with an option to “see detailed audit log”.
