Edge installation in different environments

Hello Community,

We are a little bit confused about Edge installation in different environments.

According to the documentation https://productresources.collibra.com/docs/collibra/latest/Content/Edge/ref_edge-faq.htm, ‘Every Edge site belongs and authenticates to only one Collibra Data Intelligence Cloud environment.’ We have had Edge installed only for our dev environment so far. However, when I logged into the test environment, I saw our Edge site from the dev there, marked as ‘To be installed’. I went to check the production then and there was no Edge site. Has anyone seen this behavior before?

Hi Abhishek,
Thank you for explaining it. I though the same and I was very surprised when I saw our Edge site from dev in the test environment. I guess I’ll just delete that Edge site from test.

Hello Svetlana

In every Collibra DIC environment you can setup Edge sites. Once you create the Edge site it will be shown in status as ‘To be installed’, and then you can click on download installer, and install it,

It is unlikely that Edge installation in DEV environment will appear in any other. As each installer is built with keys generated in realtime, this is highly unlikely.

So the way to go is
Step 1. Goto a new Collibra DIC Env
Step 2. Create Edge Site -> Status is ‘To be installed’->Get Installer -> Install on VM
Step 3. In Collibra DIC Env it appears as Healthy which means its installed successfully
Step 4. Goto Step 1

Hope this clears.

In Test env ‘to be installed’, means Edge is yet not installed on the VM, so download the installer and install on a fresh VM

in PROD, you have to follow the steps as above.
