Hi,
What is the significance of scope in the settings tab of Collibra DGC and how do we make use of it.
Thanks,
Vijayanand.

·5 years ago · EditedOnce scopes defined you can ‘use’ them by adding them via the ‘add assignment’ button on an Asset Type Page. Concrete example: you might have different attributes/relationships for Business Terms in a Business Glossary per division: SEO score (search engine optimisation) might be only relevant for terms in the marketing department.

·5 years ago · EditedScopes seem to be a very powerful feature which I evaluate at the moment for specific domain modeling (JSON-Schema generation, API modeling, …). Ultimately I hope to propose different and optional tooling thru scope activation.
But I’m asking myself if there are any known limitation to their usage? Did anyone already encounter gotchas or difficulties in using scopes ? I would be pleased to know what other data citizens could achieve by using them as well.
In fact, I do want to contain “semantic explosion” and deliver new assets/characteristics only on-demand (defensive approach to meta-modeling here).

Simply put., A scope in the DGC gives you the ability to create different versions of a given asset type. Please read more about them here - https://productresources.collibra.com/docs/cloud-admin/latest/#DGCSettings/OperatingModel/Scopes/to_scopes.htm
