Swagger API Integration
@jeff.greene @collibrasupport-l2.lseg.com
Working on trying to setup the Swagger API integration and I wanted to inquire how other setup this integration. Did you install maven, java , and eclipse on the collibra job server or did you spin up an additional server, specifically for the Swagger API integration ?

Thanks and apologies as was looking at an internal version where that section was not being rendered.

It seems that in the “Dependencies” section of the Open API Specification to Collibra integration, there does not appear to be any references to the Job Server. If you could please send a snippet (or something similar) that would be helpful to determine what should be done, thanks.

OP3 years ago · Edited@spring-team.collibra.com Wen you download the entire technical document (OpenAPI Specification (Swagger 3) to Collibra Integration v1.0.4), and navigate down to configuration section, in a pink box it states unser “QA and Production” that you should not install this integration on your job server.

All our integrations are developed and tested on Java 8. However, although not tested, you may try to run the integrations using higher versions by changing the JAVA_HOME variable.
Regarding the environment setup of the integration, can you kindly point out which section of our documentation are you referring to for the job server, please?
Thanks,

As @spring-team.collibra.com mentions, it depends on if you are just going to implement as-is, or develop and modify the source code.
For simplicity of supporting Job Server, it is recommended to not install other applications on the job server host.
Collibra does have service offerings and SME’s for this custom integration work.

OP4 years ago · Edited@jeff.greene @spring-team.collibra.com We plan on implementing this as-is ,
Jeff thank you for your recommendation, we will look into the service offerings and SME’s.

Also we are running java 11 , while your documentation indicates Java 8. Will this cause an issue with this integration ?

·4 years ago · EditedHi @jason.brown,
Kindly note that there are many ways of setting up the spring boot server, depending on how you use the integration. In our documentation, we recommend two ways of setting up the integration.
If you want to use the integration without any code modifications, download the package and follow the ‘Installation’ and ‘Configuration properties’ sections in the documentation, which will guide you on installing java 8, maven, configuring the application to connect with your instance and triggering the application. There are no minimum requirements besides java 8 and maven, so you can follow these steps on any machine, from your laptop to a cloud server.
However, if you would like to set up the integration for development purposes, such as making some source code modifications, open the source code in your development environment, such as Eclipse or IntelliJ and perform changes to the code whilst testing out the integration locally.

Thank you for the information. I would first setup this integration in our development environment , then in our prod. In the documentation, it says for prod , they recommend setting it up on a server that is not the job server. Does this hold true for non-prod as well ?
