When will Collibra have Data contract feature

Thanks for your question. We're excited to announce that we're releasing Data Contract features that will go into private preview with our 2025.10 release. 🥳

Key Features:

API

Our new API will enable data producers and engineers to integrate data contracts directly into their existing pipelines and development workflows. This means they can automate the push and pull of data contracts, ensuring they are always up-to-date and in sync with the data products they are building. This automation boosts productivity and accelerates the delivery of trusted data products.

Data Contract Registry:

Centralizes data contracts for better visibility and consistency.

Contract Manifest Tab

This new tab, part of the data contract asset type, will include a text rendering of the YAML file which will initially support the Open Data Contract standard, more standards will be supported in the future. The new tab will also include a code viewer for all YAML files. The text rendering will provide a user-friendly view, while the code viewer will offer a direct look at the underlying manifest. You'll also be able to access version history.

Data Contract Preview

You'll be able to preview your data contract directly from the output ports viewer widget (which will go GA in the 2025.10 release). This will allow you to quickly understand a data contract's contents without having to navigate away from your data product asset page.

Initially, we will support Data Contracts to govern Data Product ports exposed as database tables or views. We plan to add support for more asset types.

I understand from Collibra that the Data Contract will be visible in the coming releases (I believe as of 2025.10) as an extra tab on the Data Product Page. Also, through a command line interface (CLI) you will be able to sync it to external repositories (e.g. github).
