Associated resources limit?

I have a governance asset that I want to associate with other assets using the relationship complies to/applies to . So far this is working fine but I am expecting that the number of assets that are related to this governance asset might be large.

Is there any limit to the number of assets that can be related to another asset?

Thanks for your reply. Th e governance asset is called “Security Classification”. It describes the classification of a dataset or report based on the answers to a workflow-based series of questions about the data content.

The reason to have this asset instead of simply using the attribute type “Security Classification” is to be able to
(1) provide a detailed explanation of the reason for the classification
(2) describe the responsibilities of the asset owners and consumers
(3) to point to the actual policy documents stored in our third party policy management system

There is no limit (as far as I’m aware), but I would say there are some usability considerations.

First consideration could you go more specific with the relation type head and tail? If you create a relation “business rule” is rule for “Business term” and “standard” applicable for “system” that might make more sense to an end-user then 'governance asset" applies to “asset”

Another consideration does you want to show these relations in a diagram because that might be very slow to render and even impact the general performance. Configure your diagrams wisely
