It’s incredible to see the progress we’ve made together: we have released 264 ideas and a total of 1765 votes from 326 organizations. More than 400 customers are active on Ideation. Over 160 Collibrians log into the Ideation tool on weekly basis. There to read, champion, understand, study and build your ideas.
We want to express our gratitude to all of you, Ideation participants and champions, for your thoughtful, aspirational and creative contributions. Your ideas and feedback play a vital role in improving our product for everyone. From DCC-I-20 (freshly released) to DCC-I-200, and all the way up to DCC-I-2000 and beyond, your input has been instrumental in shaping Collibra.
The Big Prize
We are pleased to announce that the lucky submitter of the 2023rd idea, El Puerto de Liverpool, receives a special and tailored prize. This includes:
- One-to-one time with the Product Manager for Data Marketplace
- A bespoke workflow example for propagating responsibilities from Table to Column *
- A fun surprise package shipped to the office
Our dedicated customer success manager has already reached out to coordinate the details.
*Update: We hope to solidify that workflow and make it available on Marketplace
Extra votes
As we’re celebration, everybody should win. You are invited to cast an additional vote and pitch for your most important idea. We will reward this with 50 points, and of course, apply your bonus votes to the ideas.
The five best Idea pitches deserve an additional 250 bonus points, and fame throughout Collibra. We’ll also heavily promote these pitches within Collibra.

·3 years ago · EditedHi there, I pitched the idea of having proper favourites in Collibra.
On every page - community, domain or asset, users should be able to tick a button (star or sth) that adds this page to their favourites. Small thing, big effort. Search and navigation in Collibra are still very difficult for the users. Favourites would at least reduce that effort for the users. The current way of adding a URL is not sufficient and quite old fashioned.

OP3 years ago · EditedHi @bianca.scholze While you pitched favourites, please have a look at the related concept of
COOL-I-35 Collections .
Personal collections are set to be introduced to Data Marketplace as public beta with 2023.08. We envision you using collections to build lists of your favourite assets (per category or subject), but also to for example compose an overview of assets you need to review, or that are important in the context of a specific specific project.

·3 years ago · EditedI haved voted for Lineage Harvester - Technical Lineage with Custom Asset Types. Technical Lineage shows how the data is flowing from source to target and also takes in to consideration any alteration that are done on it. Having capability of custom asset types will prove the flexibility and can be a game changer for business.

·3 years ago · EditedI Selected the Idea for Technical Lineage. My Project is going to use Collibra Harvester for Technical Lineage and it will be a great knowledge sharing. Technical Lineage show how the data transforms and flows from Source to Destination with graphical representation.

·3 years ago · EditedI vote and pitch for
Add Report Attribute asset type for Power BI
If you selected ‘Other’, please add the Idea ID (format DCC-I-200, DGCPLAT-I-170, …)
I selected ‘Other’ - DCC-I-289 because we want to continue to expand the capabilities of Power BI reporting. Power BI reports and dashboards are integral to our processes, and being able to include lineage from a report to a column that does not directly flow through a data model. This functionality would definitely expand the usefuleness of the lineage and technical lineage for our PowerBI reports.

·2 years ago · EditedI know I have read they have expanded the capability of Custom Lineage, but we have been focusing efforts elsewhere. I am hoping to explore this next year. The issue is unless we can automatically build out Custom Lineage, we wouldn’t expend effort manually building that for import.

·2 years ago · EditedWe are working to explore this as well as we just ingested Power BI and the amount of manual work to build report attributes to have the end to end lineage is alot. Have you made any progress? Wondering if anyone has on this effort.

OP3 years ago · EditedI was instructed to make sure to tell a story when pitching. I took that a tad too literal. There’s a 20+ pages book/pdf for this guy’s Collibra adventures.

Looking through it again, he did not demonstrate the problems clearly enough. He just assumed everyone was aware and understood the challenges well enough.
For me, edit in the preview remains a valid idea. It would decrease the need to adjust a definition in tiny table cells, or having open another browser tab when using the diagrams.
