Collection Feature
Summary: mauthier is exploring the new Collection feature and finds the documentation confusing, especially regarding which assets can be added to a collection. They wonder whether this feature is limited to catalog assets or is available for business and governance assets as well, noting their lack of usage of Data Marketplace. Community_Alex Jorgenson clarifies that in the classic UI, only assets from the standalone Data Marketplace can be added to Collections, but the new UI allows this for all asset types across the board. Community_Alex Jorgenson suggests checking under the 'overflow' icon for asset options and recommends contacting Collibra Support if issues persist.
I am exploring the new Collection feature and have read the available documentation.

However, I have come away rather confused on how Collections is supposed to work. It appears you can add some assets to a collection (reports, columns, etc.) but not others (business terms, data policies, etc.). We are not currently using Data Marketplace. Does the ability to add assets to a collection only pertain to catalog assets? Is it available for business and governance assets?

Admin1 year agoIf you use the classic UI, only assets available in the standalone Data Marketplace can be added to Collections.
With the new UI, this option becomes available for all asset types. You can find it under the 'overflow' (three-dots icon) top right in asset page title bar. This is available for all assets, and regardless of the Product permissions assigned to the user.
If you find this is not the case for you, please reach out to Collibra Support

·10 months ago · EditedCan we bulk add assets to a collection? Specific scenario is that I want to identify a specific set of business terms and add them to a personal 'collection' called 'ABC' as an example. I don't want all of the business terms in the same glossary to be a part of this collection only some of them but there are more than 500 so I don't want to have to do this manually. Is there a way other than the import feature to perform this via the UI and then additionally, what are the definitions of the 'collection' if I want to add the terms via import sheet? I will add this as a new question as well in case it gets lost in this thread.
