Creating Role-Specific Landing Pages in Collibra
Summary: Dinesh Mandolkar is seeking advice on setting up role-specific landing pages within Collibra to improve user experience by providing personalized dashboards. They are interested in strategies, tools, and any potential challenges faced during implementation, especially around scalability and maintainability. In response, Steven Wohlfahrt shared their ongoing implementation plan, which includes creating separate dashboards for Data owners, Asset Managers, and general users. Their approach focuses on catering to the distinct needs of different roles, with tools to enhance asset management and user engagement.
Hi Community,
I'm currently facing a challenge in setting up role-specific landing pages within the Collibra Data Intelligence Platform. I understand the importance of having personalized dashboards to enhance user experience and efficiency. However, the default setup offers a generic dashboard that doesn't cater to the specific needs of distinct user roles.
I would like to gather insights and suggestions from those who have successfully implemented or experimented with creating customized landing pages for different user roles. How did you approach this? What tools and strategies did you use within Collibra to ensure that each role gets the data and visual elements that are most relevant to them?
Additionally, I'm curious about any potential pitfalls or challenges I should be aware of. Are there any specific Collibra features or capabilities that you found particularly effective or limiting in this process? How did you address issues of scalability and maintainability as user needs evolved?
Looking forward to hearing your experiences, whether failures or successes, and learning from your shared wisdom!

·1 year ago · EditedHi Dinesh,
we are currently implementing such an approach. We are planning on having at least three different Dashboards, based on the role the users are having in our organization.
The focus will be on the Dashboard for our Data owners, which will focus on the tasks, comments, and requests concerning their assets. Then we´ll implement one for our "Asset Managers" which are the users that curate the information for the assets. Here we will focus on the validity of their assets and guide them to assets that need a closer look.
Lastly, we are planning a general User Dashboard which will contain links to trainings or explanation videos but also have something like a news ticker to inform about the latest update of the implementation project.
I am also curious to hear how other organizations handle this topic.
Best

OP1 year ago · EditedHi Steven,
We I'm to have at least 4(Data Stewards, Data owners, Chief Data Officer, General users). For the general users, we are looking at Data Marketplace as a candidate. Please keep me posted if you are able to build your dashboards which serve as role based landing pages.
Regards,
Dinesh
