Is anyone using Data Classification using Edge? If so, how has your experience been? Did you encounter any configuration issues?

Hi Chuck,
We have used Edge to Classify but only once in out Test environment. This is due to the fact that we are also having problems with Edge. We cannot profile, it never completes the job and our Edge sites keep going offline or becoming unhealthy. We have had this happen multiple times and each time we work with support for weeks and there is never a root cause identified. The solution has been the same each time so far, to uninstall and reinstall. Most recently we did so this week, and the site is now online, but auto-synchronization jobs are not running so we cannot schedule refreshes. It has been quite frustrating not getting this stabilized or knowing the root cause. Have you experienced anything similar or any other issues with Edge?
What type of errors are you getting when you try to run classification?

HI @sontam.keerthana.infosys.com, since you are getting error messages, have you tried submitting a Support ticket via our Support portal - https://support.collibra.com/hc/en-us/requests/new ? Also, you might want to start a new thread re this issue to get more views on your post.

I have been facing similar issues. I have been trying to ingest profiling data for redshift schemas. The profiling job runs for long hours and then suddenly the site crashes and goes offline.

The site works perfectly fine if, it is just metadata ingestion but if its profiling and classification job, then it fails.

Hi Tina,

Once Edge is configured then there are certain roles to be assigned. The metadata refreshes, profiling and classification are all run in Collibra with no connector. The reason for my question was that we cannot get classification to run and have been working with support for several week already and it’s not resolved. I wondered if anyone else was actually using it.
