Edge on Oracle Linux
Oracle Linux is currently not supported by Collibra Edge (CentOS and RedHat only), however, due to our client’s ICT Policy we have been required to install Edge on Oracle Linux. Despite the lack of compatibility, we have been able to successfully install the Edge service on an Oracle Linux VM (ver 7.9).
This includes:
- Successful build and (public) Snowflake JDBC integration from AWS Oracle Linux VM
- Successful build and (private) Snowflake JDBC integration from On-Prem Oracle Linux VM
However, despite the connection now being fully operational, our client is not able to request support due to the OS not being supported. Our client’s question is:
‘Since we have proven that Edge is fully compatible with Oracle Linux - will Collibra now add this to their listing of officially supported OSs?’

If you don’t see it on there, perhaps ask your CSM to add it to the Ideation portal (or you could yourself here but if you do submit yourself, I would reference the URL of this thread). I know additions mean adding it to our test matrix for every release, getting QA and Support trained, etc. Gettin the ask into our Ideation portal helps us figure out the market to prioritize.

Edge on Oracle Linux already exists on the Ideation Platform. It is currently not planned. You can still interact with it - for example to add additional information, or add your vote. As Kristen mentions, this is valuable information to help prfioritize.
