How to add characteristics(customised relations) for a KPI asset type

I wanted to add some of the customized relations to the asset type KPI ,but it is not showing those options.
Can someone please help me on this

Hi @steven.wood ,

Is there a way to add a custom attribute to let say more than 50 asset types using rest api or java core api? Want to automate these, as it may look simple but redundant.

To add relationships to an asset you must have the relationship added to the Asset Type in settings. If you have more than one scope you might need to add the relationship more than once. This link in the docs should help.
