LDAP parameters to Language setting
Hi all,
I noticed on “Security configuration: options (collibra.com)” that it is possible to synchronize the language and the country from LDAP into Collibra.
I wondered the following:
- Will the synchronization affect the “language” setting in the user’s profile? (I would expect so, but the documentation does not confirm it)
- What is the expected behavior of Collibra when a language/locale doesn’t exist? Given that French (fr) is configured, but that you synch the LDAP parameter containing “fr_FR” or “fr_BE”, will the user then default to standard French or to the default configuration, which is English?
Many thanks for your insights!

·4 years ago · EditedIMHO, the language and locale settings in Collibra is very tricky.
The language will only be affected if you have a matching translation file. For each entry that is not correctly defined, it will default back to english. So if you define language French, but you have not french translation, you’ll get English.
The other problem is the locale, which will default to java configurations.

This is very annoying to manage and there’s a whole discussion about the confusion for users for not supporting formats such as ISO 8601.
