PowerBI and Collibra For Desktop

Is it possible to use Collibra for Desktop with PowerBI. PowerBI doesn’t allow me to highlight something so I can’t use the shortcut keys to search. Is there a PowerBI plugin or something that allows PowerBI to work with Collibra for Desktop?

Hey David

There would still be logic specific per BI tool to identify the report.
I’m expecting we’d cover Tableau and Power BI for sure.
Other vendors are less prominent in our client base, but it never hurts to ask

Yes , I just noticed it doesnt work in Tableau. Any idea how far long out this would be

Nice to meet you, and good to hear that you are interested in surfacing meta data into your BI reports.

Power BI indeed doesn’t allow to select and copy text to the clipboard, and that makes it impossible to use the shortcut feature.

As an alternative, you could consider to use links to the desktop app, as you can see in the following video (sorry for the rawness of the video. It was meant for internal usage only ) .

Maybe it is worth noticing that we are considering to develop a browser extension for that purpose. We are currently doing a prioritization exercise for the project. If you are interested in more information on this, please reach out via your contact at Collibra to me.

Wouter - Hi. I would be really interested in the browser extension option. I am assuming that this wouldn’t be PowerBI alone, but for any web based application. Any additional details would be welcomed.
