Update Full Name on DGC Import Template

Question

I want to be able to export a group of columns from my view, update the Full Names in my Excel import template, and then import that file, updating the Full Name. When I test that it does not show my Full Name being updated. Instead it shows those new Full Names as new assets.

Is there a way for me to do a mass update to my Full Names for those columns?

Hi Stijn,

I did try that but it still does not work. On the mapping it does not allow me to map the asset ID field on the Excel file to a field in the view. How do I get the asset ID on the Excel file to map and be imported?

Yes, could you try to export the asset id as well and use that same id with the import.

If you don’t link the asset id it will use the fullname as key to search for, it won’t find assets with similar name, so it will create new ones.
