Way to automatically link a data element to a business term?

Hi all
We have created a data catalog of all the data elements in a system. This has 70K data elements. We also have a business glossary with some of the most important business terms. This has about 2K business terms. Often times, the business terms are the same or very similar as the data elements. Is there any way in Collibra to use intelligence to automatically try and create a relationship between these? I know I can create the relationship manually - but is there an automated way? has anyone done this via a workflow process?

Hi Barry,

A possibility can be to create a workflow that runs over your business terms.
For each business term you can search a data element with the same name as the business term and put your matchmode on ‘anywhere’. If the name of the business term appears anywhere in the name of the data element you will get a result. In this way you can link both and see what the result gives.

Not much of intelligence but maybe worth the try.

Thanks Arthur - never thought of using something like Chat GPT to do the mapping! Too bad Collibra does not have this type of intelligence built in - but hopefully someday.

What logic can you use to do the mapping? AFAIK, collibra does not provide any such smart assistance, but you could easily request that from ChatGPT
