Rules brought by the DQ connector to Collibra DIC

The DQ connector brings the rules from Collibra DQ to be able to show Data Quality Information in Collibra DIC.

  1. Semantic rules -> A semantic is the “semantic type” of a column or attribute of a dataset. DQ’s semantic scanning self identifies standard columns and automatically provides the proper protection. More info.
  2. Questions rules: In the Rule Builder, a Question tab is available. Answering these questions, rules are created automatically.

  1. Global rules: These are rules created and saved in the rule library that can be applied to all datasets. More info.
  2. Rules that involve two or more datasets. Collibra DQ allows the combination of more than one dataset to create rules. More info.
  3. Quick Rules: In the previous tab of the rule builder, there is a way to add rules very quickly.

After creating all the rules, and synchronizing the DQ connector, all the rules can be shown in Collibra DIC

What is the behavior of the DQ Connector when we have two datasets from the same table and different rules?

Two different datasets from the same table and different rules:

  1. Rules of the Dataset 1:

  1. Rules of the Dataset 2:

After doing the synchronization:

DQ Connector brings all the rules from different datasets of the same table. All of them are linked with the table on DIC.

What is the behavior of the DQ Connector when removing a rule?

The DQ connector only brings information from the DQ instance, this means if one of the rules is removed in DQ, this rule isn’t removed in DIC, you have to remove the rule manually.
