Questions/Answers

Q1: Could you please elaborate what Data Quality pushdown entails? pushing DQ from CDQ to these tools?
A1: Yes, the data quality checks from CDQ are pushed down to the platform (Snowflake, Databricks, etc.) to take advantage of the elastic scalability provided by these systems.

Q2: Are there any out of the box lineage scanners available for SAS or SAS Viya in Collibra DIC?
A2: There are no OOTB lineage connectors for SAS today. Please open an ideation request if you are interested in this support.

Q3: Can I get a trail sandbox? So me and my team use the Collibra system and create some demos for our teams?
A3: Please work with your CSM for that request.

Q4: We have a use case to get report metadata from Qlik. Any timelines for Qlik - Collibra connectors ?
A4: The timelines are subject to change, but at this point, we are targeting a beta for Qlik early next year.

Q5: When wlll SCIM be in production?
A5: SCIM will be available as a public beta in our August release. If the feedback is solid, we will target a GA in November

Q6: Are there any out of the box lineage scanners available for SAS or SAS Viya in Collibra DIC?
A6: There are no OOTB lineage connectors for SAS today. Please open an ideation request if you are interested in this support.

Q7: Any plans to grant customers direct access to the backend database tables?
A7: There are no plans to address customer direct access, which is why we are working on more robust data egress and expanding usage analytics. Would love to learn more about your requirements.

Q8: Will data popularity be extended to BI tools too
A8: Data popularity first release is targeting snowflake, other data sources will follow. BI tools are not on the near term roadmap

Q9: Data popularity will be available for which data sources?
A9: Snowflake is the first data source and other cloud based data sources will follow.

Q10: For classification, is it AI powered in that feedback from stewards is learned for the next classification exercise?
A10: Our new Unified Data Classification will provide the ability for customers to create their own RegEx classes and we are currently exploring taking advantage of GenAI to make it more robust

Q11: Does this mean we have to have a Kubernetes environment to run Edge in the future, or can we still use KS3?

Q12: Is there any option to migrate existing systems to Collibra ?
A12: We would need more information on what systems you are referring to, but please reach out to your CSM and they can provide guidance

Q13: Can the customers get to set the sample number of rows for data classification, data profiling for all the types of sources? Looks like in the current EDGE, we can only set sample rows option only for certain data sources.

Q14: To add on to Marti Smith’s question - would also be great if we could push through a user’s credentials to the backend tables for pulling sample data so we can more easily manage who can see what sample data.

Q15: Any update on PII data discovery from source systems?

We are currently developing a new Data Classification system on Edge that allows users to create their own rules to classify data. The rules can be based on regular expressions or lists of values. The feature is currently in beta testing and we hope to have it GA for 2024.02.

Q16: Are there timelines on the roadmap items?
A16: There is a shorter-term roadmap with a timeline available in the Data Citizens Community under Product Resources. Please keep on eye on that as we keep it updated through the year.

Q17: Will there be the ability to report out invalid rows or integrate with a visualization tool?
A17: Answered live

Q18: Is a usage report planned for search request analytics? What are our users searching for? Frequent search terms, no search results etc.?
A18: That is on the roadmap as one of the top requested features, timing TBD.

Q19: You mentioned getting data access under DMP. How is this data shopping experience different from the current add to data basket workflow that allows shopping of datasets ? Is it different/new feature or same as data basket data access OOTB workflow?
A19: We’re taking a lot of the similar experience there and applying it to the data marketplace. With features like Collections, we’re looking to make that experience, especially for packages or groups of datasets for a particular project, that much easier. And of course, with the embedding of workflows, you have the ability to have full control of your own access request workflows.

Q20: I’ve been seeing this roadmap for some time. Would it be possible to be more specific on the timelines for these integrations? Specifically on the timelines for DBT, specific Month?

Q21: Do we have a high level dashboard based on data availability, Data Quality issues and SLA breaches etc…
A21: Added dimension roll-ups:

• forObservability Score Roll-Up (report by category)
• Rules Passing Fraction
• Roll-Up Report (passing fraction quality by dimensions)
• Dataset Dimension (filters and aggregates)
• Column Dimension (filters and aggregates)
• Pulse view (not new, but great way to see this

Q23: For the Data asset, will there be an integration with DQ if there has been profiling/rules applied to that table?

Q24: When will Tailored Asset Pages be available? Great work and thanks for sharing this info with us!!
A24: Private Beta in August, Public Beta Q1 and GA targeted H1

Q25: Any integration plan with Google Chat?
A25: Not at this point.

Q26: For the integration with MS Teams, will users be able to search for terms/assets as well?
A26: Yes - we are looking at bi-directional support in both Slack and Teams - users can perform a search in their communication platform for the same types of assets they’d be able to search for directly in Collibra, as well as also receive those notifications or updates about events occurring within Collibra

Q27: How all these advancements in metadata/AI direction will enable mature Data Rationalization in Collibra?

Q28: What are the timelines for new UI releases?
A28: We’re looking at a private beta towards the latter part of this year, and public beta and GA milestones in the first half of 2024.

Q29: Have you planned a modification of the JDBC connector for AWS Glue in order to be able to collect all the metadata of this meta catalog?
A29: No changes in the near term roadmap. But, we continue to work with AWS through our strategic partnership to identify opportunities for future integrations

Q30: Do you have a strategic vision for how you may interact with LLM (Large Language Models) such as the recently announced Lakehouse IQ by Databricks?
A30: Hi Gabriele, we are working through that strategy this week and expect to share more in the coming months.

Q31: Is WOrkflow Designer available in beta ? What is GA timeline?
A31: It is available in Public Beta today and will GA with the August release.

Q32: Are you planning to provide horizontal scalability on DIC such as using Kubernetes?

Q36: Will the tailored asset page be configurable by user or set by the company per asset type?
A36: Tailored Asset Pages will have a default setting that we think makes sense, but you can customize as you see fit.

Q38: When can we have courses available for Collibra Protect in Collibra University?
A38: Introduction course is already available (“Quickly up-scale your policy governance with Collibra Protect”) - we are working on adding new segments next year

Q39: Any plans for functionality to push business definitions back out to BI tools, or being referenceable directly within BI tools, for use cases such as report developers or consumers viewing field tooltips?
A39: Today we have the collibra browser extension which allows you to reference business terms from BI tools today.

Q41: The EOL for Collibra for Desktop is set for October 2024. One of the main features was the global shortcut to Collibra. Are there any plans to have a global shortcut with the Browser Plugin?
