At Mention via Comment Api

Does anyone know if it is possible to include an ‘At Mention’ when adding a comment via the AddCommentRequest API? I’d like to add a comment on an asset under a certain condition and utilize the built in ‘At Mention’ notification feature.

For context, the problem I’m trying to solve is to evaluate a domain for assets that have not been modified within a certain time period. Then, I want to notify the business steward(s) of each asset instructing them to review the asset and update a custom date attribute to the date of their review. This not only notifies the steward(s), but a record of that notification will exist as a comment for auditing purposes.

That worked!

Below is the code I used in case someone else is looking to do the same thing. I’m using variables for the Resource ID and the User ID.

	    def atMentionDataStewards = commentApi.addComment(AddCommentRequest.builder()
			.baseResourceId(string2Uuid("$a"))
			.baseResourceType(ResourceType.valueOf("Asset"))
			.content("<span class=\"mention user-mention\">[@User:" + "$v" + "]</span><p>Enter Text Here!!!</p>")
			.build()
			)

I think you have to build the mention yourself with the following syntax:

<span class="mention user-mention">[@User:22f5d3be-2cea-11ed-991b-f8b46af8eb5a]</span>
