Update and debug the RequestAssetsAccessProcess workflow

We need to make some changes to the existing RequestAssetsAccessprocess workflow, my understanding is, after I add some data sets into my data basket, then click the “Checkout the Data basket” button, this workflow starts.

If I’m updating the existing workflow directly, any bugs will stop people from working with this workflow.

So is there any good way to do this without affecting other people ?

Can I create a new workflow based on RequestAssetsAccessprocess, and find a way to start it ?

Or is it possible to customize my “Checkout data basket” button, to only start my workflow, not the standard RequestAssetsAccessprocess one ?

Any ideas ?
