Business rules associated to Business terms

Hi Everyone,
I want to associate business rules to a Business terms. My idea is to create a characteristic of a BT (free text) to add the business rule.
Do you any other suggestion, experience to share ? What is you thoughts on this topic ?

It is imperative that I understand the logic of the reasoning behind this thread. Building a thing because it “could” be interesting is not a strong case for adding business value.

Logically I would advise doing this via a relationship because then you may have multiple relationships with rules and terms and this gives you the flexibility to do so.

I would rather spend time making the following relationships visible: Business Rule > Data Quality Rule > Data Element > Data Entity > Business Term (Maybe even Line of Business & Process as well)… this way a business term gets placed in the context of the organisation and this is far more powerful for analytics purposes. Now you have lineage that can be used to inference with like a knowledge graph.

We use the Business Rule Asset Type to drive data quality metrics/expectations or business process. Not as much to the business term. The asset types contain relationships to one another. But, if it needs to be on the Business term, create the custom relationship from the Business Rule to the Business term rather than an attribute on the term.
