Collibra is updating the rules for Username compliance
In an effort to continue to evolve and expand our capabilities around user provisioning and authentication, Collibra will be updating our rules for Usernames.
The new rules include:
- Removing the distinction between lower and upper case letters. So, case insensitive duplicate usernames will no longer be allowed (i.e. usernamecase and UserNameCase will not be treated as different user names and will result in a conflict)
- Adding the following character limitations:
- No leading and trailing spaces
- No empty usernames
- Not more than 255 characters
- Contain only spaces or characters in the following Unicode categories:
- Letter
- Number
- Symbol
- Punctuation
- Non-spacing marks
The planned rollout for these changes is as follows:
As part of the 2022.08 release Collibra will:
- Prevent creation of any new conflicting or invalid usernames
- Log impacted users/usernames daily
Actions needed by the customer/administrator:
- Remove unneeded users
- Check their logfile to identify usernames that need action and then change/update usernames to avoid conflicting or invalid usernames (please note that those using LDAP and SSO will need to be sure these usernames are updated in those systems as well)
