How to change the driver for existing schema
Hi Team,
We are ingesting data from Amazon Redshift to Collibra through on-prem jobserver. Earlier we have used an amazon provided driver and ingested metadata. Now we would like to change this driver to Collibra provided driver. We already have lots of relations with the existing schema ingested using amazon provided driver.
The collibra provided driver is working fine separatley. When I try to refresh the existing schema using the newly added collibra provided driver it throws me a error “java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.amazon.redshift.jdbc42.Driver”. Can you please let me know if there is way to solve this without breaking the existing relations.
Thanks & Regards,
Guna

Hi
if you want to start using a new driver to refresh an already ingested schema going forward, you will need to create a new driverprofile: https://productresources.collibra.com/docs/cloud-user/2020.11/#Catalog/RegisterDataSource/JDBC/ta_manage-jdbc-driver-collibra-provided-driver.htm
When this is done, you can go to the schema where you want the new driver to be used, click refresh and select the new driver profile from the driver dropdown which you can see below

Hope this helps
Peter

Hello Peter, Yes I tried this, it does work, however I have a concern related to performance.
In my case, earlier we used Amazon provided redshift driver to load metadata, it used to take around 15 to 20mins maximum, but when I changed the driver to the same schema to collibra provided driver it is taking more than 3hrs.
is this expected? Even the second time it is taking more than 3 hrs.
